Montgomery Speech Boutique takes pride in providing individualized, highly effective, and evidence based speech-language and orofacial myofunctional therapy services for clients with a variety of needs. Meet Emily
emily metzer, ccc-slp
Speech-Language Pathologist

Emily graduated from Purdue University with both her Bachelor's Degree and Master's Degree in Clinical Speech-Language Pathology. She has over 13 years of experience working with clients with a variety of needs in both clinical and educational settings. Emily is a licensed and nationally certified SLP. She is licensed to practice within the state of Maryland. Emily is formally trained in PROMPT and the Sequential Oral Sensory Approach to Feeding.

Additionally, she has specialized training and expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of orofacial myofunctional disorders. Emily continues to stay up date on the latest evidence based practices within her field and completes ongoing professional development courses/seminars.  Emily has worked extensively with feeding/swallowing clients, speech sound disorders, AAC users, language disorders and clients with multiple disabilities. She currently works full time for Montgomery County Public Schools as a Support Speech-Language Pathologist. In her spare time, Emily enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and her dog, Charlie. She also enjoys stand up paddle boarding, reading books, running and hiking. 

Emily fosters an environment where her clients don't feel like they are working, but instead, enjoying their time while gaining new skills. At the same time, she takes a structured approach in her treatment process and guides therapy sessions in such a way that her clients are always working towards reaching their goals. Emily strives to create a positive working relationship with each client!
